Nov & Dec 2010 Newsletter
Winter is well and truly behind us, although so far Spring has been wet and cold with a few warm days in between, much like Spring used to be. October was the wettest October in 35 years.
As of September 1st Melbourne went back up to Stage 2 water restrictions. You can now water your garden at any time with a watering can or a garden hose with a trigger nozzle. Manual watering systems can be used to water plants (not lawns) on specified days between 6-8am and 8-10pm. Automatic watering systems can be used to water plants between midnight and 4am on specified watering days.
Now is a great time to think about renovating or landscaping your garden as with these new restrictions you will be able to keep your new garden alive. It is now possible to obtain a 28 day permit to water new turf.
We now have a new apprentice, his name is Steve. Steve has transferred over from a nursery apprenticeship where he has been working in a large wholesale nursery. We also have a new casual. Andrew has around 4 years experience in the industry. We would like to welcome both Steve and Andrew to our growing team.
Another addition to our team is a new zero turn lawn mower. We have invested in a Husqvarna PZ29. It is an extremely efficient machine and has a beautiful manicured cut. We believe it will give us an advantage over the competition. We are also having a new trailer built which will enable to transport two ride on mowers at the same time enabling us to operate even more efficiently.
